New Runway - Field Improvements

March/April 2008 update - The new runway is looking good!

Tons of topsoil were put down, large rocks were removed, smoothing and grading was done, and the bump between the old and new runway was removed. (good work Roger!)

Fertilizer, seed and straw were applied at the end of March.

We're having some nice rains in early April so we should have some grass coverage soon. Several members have offered to purchase seed and fill in any bare spots that we see as the first planting takes root. We should coordinate on the type of seed to put down.

A safety fence has been erected. We also fertilized and applied bug killer to the existing infield and runways. Here are a few photos from March 27th. Notice how smooth the new runway is.
